Hiking The Lost Dutchman

 
Last Saturday I took the family, including our pug, to our first state park in Arizona since moving here and our first hike together since our son was born. It's been a long time coming and it was nice to get out finally and enjoy the fresh air. The Lost Dutchman is named after the fabled lost gold mine and is located in the Sonoran Desert, 40 miles east of Phoenix. The weather was perfect and the wildflowers were just starting to bloom. The hike we ended up on was part of the Treasure Loop and was very easy. Surprisingly though we were completely exhausted when we arrived back at home.
